I absolutely love this idea! Fall always feels like the start of the year for me (I guess I can't shake that back-to-school feeling), so I am always looking for ways to reset or take advantage of this proactive feeling. Will definitely be trying this.
I can’t shake it either! And I love how you frame it—it really is such a good change to reset. Let me know what you end up including on your syllabus! 💙
So far The Poet's Companion by Kim Addonizio and Dorianne Laux and Artful Sentences by Virginia Tufte are coming to mind. I am very interested in sentence structure, rhythm/cadence, etc., so I'll probably frame it as something like that!
oh wow, love this list. Artful Sentences looks like a good one <3 Have you read Who Will Run the Frog Hospital? I always love re-reading that one when I’m thinking about sentence structure, etc. for some reason.
Of course, thanks for reading!! And you found the "hidden" course :) Unfortunately, I'm not doing that one this fall but I had fun making it up. My partner told me that I missed Fievel Goes West.
Are you gravitating towards a theme or project this fall? <3
For no reason whatsoever, I’ve been keeping a list of weird wikipedia pages that I stumbled upon and I might create a course for myself based on that, lol.

I haven’t read that one, but sounds like I need to check it out!
Charlee, I live for assignments like this! Thanks for the template! Is Of Mice and Rats your current course this fall? It has the best title.

Oh wow I love a good Wikipedia rabbit hole. That’s a good idea to list those out…maybe there will be a fun pattern at the end!
Exactly! That sort of makes my syllabus… myself? lol
I think so! It's perfect :)
